This article discusses the 10 tips to help companies improve their productivity.

Productivity is important to a company irregardless of their size or the market that they are in. In this article are the top 10 tips that have been proven to improve employee productivity and performance. It is understood that human resource is the most important component of any organization. Without people, there will be no existing business, organization or company.

These tips are important areas to watch out when you plan to further increase your productivity levels.

10. Curative Training – Curative Training should be a last resort. Curative employee training occurs when productivity levels are dangerously low. This is a form of damage control to help improve already down productivity ratings.

9. Pre-Screening – Company applicants should be screened efficiently before they are accepted. Their skill level and productivity rate should be checked to make sure that they will not be a liability to the company.

8. Pre-Training and Intensive Orientation – New employees should undergo training and an intensive orientation so that they will be acquainted with the processes of the company. Once they have undergone this they will have an increased productivity rate.

7. Constant Monitoring – You are only as strong as your weakest link, and with constant monitoring you will be able to see which area of production or service you are weakest at. This way, you will be able keep things in check as soon as they occur.

6. Incentives – Incentives help motivate employees to produce more because they know that they will be getting something extra if they do.

5. Stress Relief and Recreation – Stress can cause a slow production rate. That is why activities that relieve stress should be practiced as well as recreational activities should be implemented so that stress levels will decrease.

4. Delegate and Don’t Micromanage – It may be hard to let go of some responsibilities that you feel are crucial to the company, but micromanaging will only take up a lot of your time and decrease your productivity levels. Company’s heads should delegate tasks to able and qualified individuals.

3. Modernization – Modernization does not mean ditching the old and traditional ways completely. It simply means that you will employee modern ways like computerization and robotic aide to help improve productivity.

2. Avoid the Unnecessary – If something doesn’t need to be done, then don’t do it. Fretting over useless stuff will only take up your time and decrease productivity. Why fix anything that is not broken?

1. Keep the Employees Happy! – This is one of things that have been incessantly repeated. A happy employee works the best. This analogy stretches from parenting to economics. When an employee is satisfied with the work conditions, then he/she will work smoothly and without complains. This also greatly depends on the ideals of the company. This is easy for some companies if their goal is to make their employees as happy as possible.

If companies follow these tips, they can ensure that their productivity levels will increase and they will also have better, happier and stress free environment for their employees.

The need to measure and increase webmaster productivity is very important in making sure one is successful in his or her chosen profession.

It is not easy being a webmaster. A lot of people think it would be so cool to become a professional webmaster, especially when it comes to the fact that you have absolute say on how a particular website would look like. But the job is not that easy at all. There are so many things entailed in being a webmaster. You have to be very familiar with web design standards, web design principles, HTML codes, CSS codes, and certain programming languages. Plus, web design and web development are just some of the basic responsibilities and tasks entailed with being a webmaster. You also have to be very familiar with search engine optimization and building site traffic. After all, what is the essence of building and developing a website if you do not really aim for the website itself to attract site traffic?

Of course, all of these and more can be achieved by any person. With hard work and determination, you can easily learn the basics in developing a website. Yes, there may be templates all over the web that you can use when you start developing and designing your website. But, as a webmaster, you will definitely feel that itch to develop and design a website from scratch, not from the usual templates you can easily find. Thus, hard work and determination are needed.

So, how do you measure and increase webmaster productivity? Measuring this is not really that hard to do. As mentioned above, webmasters should aim for the websites they develop to do well when it comes to search engine optimization. This means the websites designed should have high search rankings. Here lies the importance of developing links that can help build site traffic. Now, as a webmaster, you are not really burdened with the task of developing articles and such, to fuel traffic by means of the incorporation of relevant keywords and key phrases. This is no longer your job because this responsibility belongs to web content writers already. Still, you have to remember that these articles are uploaded on the websites that you develop. Thus, you have to make sure the interface of your website is user-friendly, that uploading these articles would be easier to do. Accessing your website should also be made easier so as to direct more traffic. If you can do this, then you are indeed productive as a webmaster.

Increasing webmaster productivity is another story. You cannot discount the fact that the advent of computer technology comes at a very fast pace. As a webmaster, you should then be constantly updated with the developments and upgrades of tools used for web design and web development. You should also be open to possibilities and change. Yes, you may have a distinct style with the designs you create for your websites. Still, you have to incorporate new concepts and new designs, so that your websites would not appear monotonous. You will surely have a lot of clients to attend to, and you would not want to give them the same designs for the website you develop, right? With constant updates on tools, software, and other applications, you will surely increase productivity as a webmaster.

In the world of programmers, there is a need to measure and increase programmer productivity. In doing so, there are concepts to remember.

It is actually very, very difficult to measure and increase programmer productivity. This is because there are so many things entailed in a typical programmer’s job. To begin with, computer programs come up with detailed and specified sets of instructions that are called programs. These programs are conceptualized and developed to deal with a specific need. Yes, programmers generate programs for these, and you may think these are enough for the usual programming position. However, programmers actually do so much more. They also develop and test out logical structures that are used in solving different problems with the use of computers. In doing all these and more, programmers make use of tools, languages, and other computing technologies that are very much needed.

What’s more, there are so many job titles programmers have. Some programmers are known as computer software engineers. Others are also known as computer systems analysts. These are just some of the job titles. What makes each and every position distinct from each other is the fact that these come with different specialties and required skills. And it is because of the fact that there are just so many aspects entailed in being a programmer that makes measuring productivity very difficult to do.

Or so we think. Have you heard of that famous myth claiming that roughly just 5% of computer programmers are 20 times more productive than the remaining 95% in a population of professionals? So many people in the programming world actually believe this myth. So many also try to explain the distinction in more understandable terms. Actually, it is not so hard to distinguish the 5% from the 95%. The difference here is just the existence of continuous learning. That small but very productive 5% actually view being a programmer as a continuous learning process. And this perspective makes the distinction all the more clearer.

This is a very easy concept to grasp. Let us take a look at your desktop computer at home or in the office. Hypothetically, you may have Windows XP Professional for your computer’s operating system. But in a matter of months, Microsoft launches its latest operating system, which is Windows Vista. And the launches of both operating systems are just such a short time apart! This is how fast computer programmers work to develop the different software applications every computer techie wants to have on his or her system. Imagine doing this without being aware of the fast pace computer technology comes at! Thus, there is indeed a very inevitable need to be constantly updated with the different programming languages and such being developed all over the world.

Once you accept the fact that programming is a continuous learning experience, then it will be easier to measure and increase programmer productivity in your office. What’s more, it would also be a whole lot easier to face your problems with appropriate solutions. With the development of appropriate solutions, your corporation and your own business can then deal with whatever problem that just might occur unexpectedly. This way, you are sure that your corporation is sufficiently equipped with all that it needs.
